As detailed elsewhere, Samuel insisted that when he came to live in Malta, that he needed to have a decent restaurant near to his house, he is very lucky that ‘Piccolo Padre’ is very near, it’s a great place!
Overlooking 'Balluta Bay’, Piccolo Padre is housed in a beautiful stone building and has a large terrace hanging over the sea, it’s a nice place to be. Samuel has been there with friends many times and has always really enjoyed it, the food and service is excellent!
For starters he would recommend the Bruschetta, particularly the mushroom and Cheddar cheese, they go particularly well with a large glass of Malbec. The 'Deep-fried Calamari' and the 'Fresh Mussel hot pot’ are also recommended, both dishes are superb!
For the main courses, everything is recommended, Samuel has yet to find anything he didn’t thoroughly enjoy. The pizzas are fabulous, (the bases are just delicious). The Pasta dishes are particularly good, occasionally they offer Spaghetti Bolognaise as a ‘special' and it is indeed special! It’s the best Samuel has every tasted, just fabulous. The Tagliatelle Rabbit is also wonderful, as is the 'Paccheri with Lamb Ragu’, so tender…
If you do visit Piccolo Padre you cannot leave without trying their fabulous desserts, the ‘Cherry Cheesecake, is amazing, as is the 'Fresh Strawberry Meringue' and the 'Banoffee Tart’.
