Wentworth Music Festival is selling out fast!
One of the musical highlights of the last couple of years has been the emergence of the Wentworth Music Festival, held in the grounds of the fabulous Wentworth Woodhouse.
The idea for the Festival came from Radio Sheffield stalwarts; Comedian Toby Foster and fellow host Steve White, who wanted to organise a family-friendly great day out in South Yorkshire, they
have achieved exactly that.
The first Festival was held in 2017, with over 40 Music and Comedy acts performing in front of the stunning house. Stars such as Heaven17, Tony Christie, TPau, Lemar and Dodgy played to a highly enthusiastic crowd who couldn't believe their luck; partying in such an amazing place, at such great value.
On a personal level, we were particularly 'chuffed' and surprised to see 'The Bar Steward Sons of Val Doonican' . A very funny and talented band from Barnsley, we've been obsessed ever since, go and see them if you can!
The 2018 Festival was even better, with more amazing Pop acts such as; Scouting For Girls, Go West, Toploader, Liberty X and Sheffield’s own Lucy Spraggan. The Fairground, the Comedy tents (for both Adults and for Children), the new Musical acts tent, an increased range of caterers and drinks making the event even better. This years unexpected surprise was 'Right said Fred', they were excellent! We were also lucky enough to be in the VIP Village and had a great time.
The 2019 Wentworth Music Festival will take place on Saturday 15th of June. With Tony Hadley headlining and acts such as Eliot Kennedy, Republica, Doctor & The Medics and last years hit 'Soul Sensation' already signed up, tickets are going very quickly!
Make sure you get yours and see you there!
Tickets can be bought online here
You can also buy tickets in person at The Horseshoe in Harley and the The Village Shop at Wentworth (You can get one of their great sandwiches while you are there).
There is now also a new 'Festival HQ' at the side of the George & Dragon (wonder how that happened, at the side of a pub?) If you have any questions about the festival, you can apparently just pop in and ask...
